Char Quill:  Powered by a small battery in the body of the quill, this device heats a small metal blade used for writing.

Alch Lamp:  A device that gives light.  Alch lamps have a series of thin, cylindrical, hollow, metal elements.  Alch passing through these elements causes them to glow.  The color of light depends on the metal used.  The elements grow very hot and can spark if they are damaged.

Alch Heater:  Similar in design to an alch lamp, the elements in alch heaters are made of a metal that produces much more heat then light.

Rotational Engine:  A catch all term for a device that uses alternating flows of alch energy in such a way as to produce rotation.  These rotating engines are used to power a myriad of alcaotech devices.  Rotational Engines power elevators, tools such as drills and saws, and turn the propellers of cloud cruisers.
