Eloquism is a system of techniques used to produce supernatural effects.  A person who practices Eloquism is called an Eloquist.

Eloquism is an ancient tradition dating back over fifteen hundred years.  It is entrenched in tradition and the rituals, philosophy and culture surrounding it are
as much a part of Eloquism as the actual techniques it teaches.

Eloquists require a great deal of preparation to create their effects, but the results are often impressive.  Extremely realistic illusions, teleportation, the healing of grievous wounds and devastating acts of destruction are all possible.  However, the amount of time and resources required to evoke these effects reduces the practicality of Eloquism, as compared to the relatively quick and versatile power offered by the more recently discovered discipline of attunement.

Eloquism has declined in popularity over the last couple of centuries, in part due to the appeal of attunement.  This has caused no small rivalry between the practitioners of both arts.
